You Are Invited

Oct. 23rd, 2009. Doors are at 5:30 pm. Program at 7:00 pm.

It's the biggest night of our year. Where friends and foes stand side by side. Drinks in hand. Fingers crossed.

You're invited to join in the debauchery. Let’s see how much metal you can leave with.

The Judges

It's your big idea. Your blood, sweat and tears. And probably a few bonehead mandates. Here are the people who will sit in judgment of it.

  • Bart Heird
    Bart Heird
    Digital Creative Director
    JWT Chicago

Bart is the Digital Creative Director for JWT Chicago. For the last 10 years he's been so deeply immersed in the world of bits, bytes and bandwidth, it's possible that he's just an avatar. He helped spearhead the original JWT Digital group and participated in some capacity in nearly every digital campaign launched out of the Chicago and Atlanta offices.

Previously, as Lead Digital Art Director at RMG Connect, Bart worked with Hype Williams to create exclusive web content featuring Snoop Dogg, led the online launch for Chicago's successful "Winter Ice" event and was one of only three contributors from North America on the Kit Kat global business. Within two years, he won multiple web marketing awards for Nestlé, Oscar Mayer and Dreyer's Ice Cream.

Additional clients include FEMA, Norfolk Southern Railways, Helene Curtis, HSBC, Northwestern Mutual, Texas Instruments, Kraft Foods, Blockbuster, Butterfinger and the Illinois Bureau of Tourism.

Prior to his advertising days, he performed as part of the house act for the Chicago Improvisation, supervised numerous script-writing groups and was an analyst for U.S. Naval Intelligence (yes, really). He has enough famous friends to make him bitter... but he's not.

P.S. Bart is also a voracious online gamer. You can find him on Xbox Live as "Bonejaw" or follow his Flickr obsession (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chicagobart)

The Digs

It’s going to be Epic.

It’s at Epic. Fitting for an event like The Show, wouldn’t you say? It’s large enough to host some of the biggest egos in town and showcase the best work of the year. There are also plenty of bars, bathrooms and dark corners for passing around rumors and/or business cards.
